2020 Exhibition

It is with sadness that for the first time in 40 years we had to take the difficult decision to cancel our annual exhibition. This was to be a significant year for the club, as along with celebrating our 40th exhibition, it was also to be the final exhibition with Peter Worton as exhibition manager.

Peter is stepping down after what would have been the 31st exhibition that he has organised over the past 40 years. We cannot overstate the debt of gratitude the Sudbury Model Railway club owes Peter. Without Peter and Anne (Peter's wife)'s loyal support and efforts Sudbury would not have its annual exhibition and our members would not have their model railway club.

Alongside Peter’s departure, the club will also be moving its exhibition from St Peter's Church on the Market Hill in Sudbury to the Stevenson Centre in Great Cornard from 2021. This is a difficult decision brought about following the uncertainty of redevelopment plans for St Peter's Church in 2021. For those who have been good enough to support us in the past, the new location offers parking and toilets; welcome luxuries that we accept arrival of after 20 years in the 21st century.

The club nights remain virtual, via our digital newsletter for members at the current time. The club committee are keeping the situation under constant review and look forward to returning to Friday night club meeting in 2021. Of course this comes with the caveat we are all so used to - subject to government guidance.

We appreciate your continuing support and wish all our members, visitors and supporters well during these unprecedented times. Stay safe!
